How to Use Freeze Dried Garlic
Freeze dried garlic... great idea but how the heck do I use the stuff? If you've landed here you are probably thinking... so I bought this cool new locally produced garlic product and I have absolutely no idea how to use it. You would not be alone in this thought but don't worry we've got your back! In a few simple steps, and only a couple minutes, you can watch your freeze dried garlic transform to fresh garlic.
How to Use Freeze Dried Garlic (when your recipe calls for fresh)
Step 1: Put a few tablespoons or more of warm water into a bowl.
Step 2: Add 1 tsp of garlic ranchers freeze dried garlic to the warm water. If your recipe calls for more than one clove the ratio is 1tsp of freeze dried = 1 clove. Dang I really love simple math!
Step 3: Set a timer and wait 2-3 minutes... I personally use this time to take a dance break because music is always playing in my kitchen.
Step 4: Do the pinch test. The garlic chunks should feel and squeeze like fresh it should no longer be hard chunks but soft and squeezable. If it feels like this you are ready to strain and drain the water off the garlic.
Step 5: Presto... finito! Use in whatever recipe calls for fresh garlic and post your garlic recipes to instagram tagging us at #garlicranchers and tag us @garlicranchers. And if you have an amazing recipe to share please share it with us so we can share it with our garlic loving family!
